Earthworks

Here at A J Bretherton Groundworks & Plant Hire we thrive on our ability to move earth. Whether its off site using lorries or on site using articulated dump trucks (ADT’s) we have the personnel and machines to complete the job to an exceptional standard.
Earth moving and the safe removal of all aggregates is a fast moving industry that our team thrive off, so whether it’s a mound or a mountain, we will move it!

With an extensive and proven track record in the world of earth moving our experience and knowledge enables us to provide a comprehensive level of service for all your earthwork and earth moving needs.

Tarmac Plaining

We are a specialist in laying tarmac and asphalt surfaces but also cover block paving, flag laying, kerbing, drainage, tarmac plaining and small excavation.

We also offer a selection of Plant Hire all with plant certification and trained operators.

All of our workforce carry appropriate CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) and use PPE, method statements and all health and safety measures are in place.

Working both in the private and public sectors, our business offers a range of services, from high quality asphalt road surfacing solutions through to driveway improvements and repair.

Our local workforce are experienced in all aspects of road surfacing.

Snow Clearance & Gritting

Using the latest gritting equipment and expertly training operatives, our professional service uses independent accurate weather forecasting to ensure your business keeps operating and that your premises are kept free of ice and snow.
If you have staff, clients, customers or visitors to your premises you have a duty of care, so far as is reasonably practicable, to ensure safe passage around the premises.

It is your responsibility under The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 to maintain safe access during the winter. The costs of ice and snow claims range from a few thousand pounds to hundreds of thousands of pounds so can you afford to be left out in the cold this winter?
